EST1000 has been developed to meet the strict criteria for in vitro chemical testing and research applications
EST1000 is available in different maturation stages and produced under custom specific conditions (e.g. w/o hydrocortisone) on request. It is a robust epidermal skin model and can be cultured for up to 3-4 weeks at air-liquid interphase (airlift culture). During this period viability and the mitotic potential of the basal layers are maintained. The thickness of the stratum corneum increases because of the lack of mechanical forces leading to removal of the outer layers (desquamation).
EST1000 allows research in different phases of skin differentiation and maturation. It is an established skin model for research and efficacy testing in cosmetics and pharmaceutical industry as well as academia.
